EXPO Milano 2015 - Signing of Contract of Participation

Italy, October 2013 - IPS and DEVNET International were invited to the third edition of the International Participants Meeting (IPM) for Expo Milano 2015 on October 3-4, at the Lingotto in Turin, Italy. Two days were dedicated to the Universal Expo theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” with representatives from over one hundred countries.

The final day of the IPM for Expo Milano 2015 opened with the signing of contracts of participation by nine countries and five civil society organizations, including IPS.

The signing countries were Benin, Colombia, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Lithuania, Mexico, San Marino, Uruguay and Vietnam bringing the total number of countries participating to more than 130. Giuseppe Sala of Expo Milan 2015 officiated at the ceremony.

IPS was among the 5 civil society organizations, operating around the world, together with Fair Trade,Lions, Save the Children and WWF which signed the agreement of participation. To date 10 civil society organisations have joined Expo Milano 2015. It is important to underline that DEVNET and IPS signed a MOU establishing  partnership for EXPO Milano 2015. EXPO Milano 2015 represents a great opportunity to highlight key messages to an expected 20 million visitors and 1 billion people globally through a Cyber Expo platform.
